This Privacy Policy explains how Press Release News (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit pressreleasenews.org or submit a press release.

1. Information we collect

• Account data. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. We never store your plaintext password.
• Press release content. Anything you submit through our form (title, body, images, contact details, company name) is stored to be published on this site and distributed through our RSS firehose to downstream syndication partners and news aggregators.
• Contact form messages. Messages sent through /contact are delivered to our support inbox.
• Technical data. Standard request metadata such as IP address and user agent, used for rate-limiting, fraud prevention, and security logging.
• Cookies. A single HttpOnly session cookie keeps you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

2. How we use your information

• To publish and distribute your press releases as you requested.
• To authenticate you and protect your account.
• To respond to support requests.
• To detect, prevent, and respond to abuse or fraud.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations.

3. How we share information

Published press releases are public by design. Once published, the content (including any contact details you choose to include in the body) is visible to anyone on this site and via our RSS feeds. Downstream syndication partners and aggregators may copy this content.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data with service providers only as needed to operate the site (hosting, email delivery, image storage, captcha verification, AI editorial review).

4. Captcha and AI review

Submission and contact forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly captcha. Press release submissions are reviewed by an automated AI editorial check before publication. The submission text is sent to our AI provider for the sole purpose of that review and is not used to train third-party models.

5. Email and verification

We require a verified email address before publishing. We may block disposable or temporary email domains to reduce spam. Transactional emails (verification, password reset, submission status) are sent through our email infrastructure.

6. Data retention

Published press releases are kept indefinitely as part of the public record unless you request removal. Account data is retained while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of account closure, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. EU/UK, California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].

8. Children

Press Release News is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
