Beirut Psychologist Yusra Imad Widens Free Mental Health Information Initiative Barik Al Amal
BEIRUT, Lebanon — November 6, 2026 — Barik Al Amal, a digital psychoeducation initiative that publishes mental health information for the public, has been expanded by Yusra Imad, a licensed clinical psychologist, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) psychotherapist and analytical-systemic therapist based in Beirut, the practice announced Friday.
The initiative is one of several non-clinical programs operated alongside Imad's private practice, which provides individual psychotherapy, psychological assessment and diagnosis, family therapy, integrative couple therapy and integrated support for addiction. The practice also offers corporate mental health workshops, employee well-being programs and sexual education sessions for organizations and community groups.
Imad said the expansion is intended to widen access to plain-language information about anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties and major life transitions. The materials are distributed digitally and are separate from the clinical services offered to individual clients.
"Psychoeducation is not a substitute for therapy, but it can help people recognize when they need it and what to expect when they seek it," Imad said in a statement. "Barik Al Amal was created to put reliable information in front of people who may not otherwise encounter it."
According to the practice, each therapeutic engagement begins with an assessment of the client's concerns, circumstances and goals. Treatment plans are developed individually and may combine practical CBT techniques with exploration of personal history, family dynamics and relationship patterns. When clinically indicated, the practice coordinates with psychiatric professionals.
Imad's professional background includes psychiatric nursing, psychological counseling and university student welfare work, according to the practice. She said that experience informs both her clinical work and the workplace programs, which are designed for employers seeking to address employee mental health.
The practice operates in Lebanon, where demand for psychological services has grown in recent years alongside increased public discussion of mental health. Imad said the practice accepts referrals for individuals, couples, families and organizations.
Barik Al Amal content is available through the practice's website. Imad said additional psychoeducation materials are planned for release over the coming months, though she did not specify a schedule or the number of publications planned.
